Hello, I recently spent about $800 on an SEO package from SubmitEdge and it seemed to work very well. The campaign got me into #2 on Google for a pretty decent keyword (rated "highly competitive" at 57% by the SEOmoz keyword analysis tool). I used about 1/3 of the package on that specific keyword. My site is only PR 2 at the moment, so the strength of the root domain didn't have much to do with these results. Now I'm considering purchasing their "advanced link building" campaign: www.submitedge.com/link-building-service.html. It looks like they spread the link building out over a full 12 months. Any opinions on this? Does anyone have direct experience with SubmitEdge that they can share? Or any reports of being banned for using their services? Also, does Google consider this service to be white hat? Is it safe to assume that if the first package with them worked, additional services through them are a good investment? The site I'm trying to boost is a pretty high quality blog. It's relatively new (about 8 months now). People share the articles via social media quite a bit, but I never seem to get many natural backlinks. Occasionally I'll get one from a decent site. Which is why I'm now trying to outsource the SEO. Any help is appreciated!

Hi Jabcchetta, I would highlight a discussion started by Egol: www.seomoz.org/q/big-link-network-taken-downIn addition, if it was me who can take the decision, I would rather spend that money on creating some quality content and build links that provide value for the potential visitors. I hope that helped, Jack

JABcchetta, for $5,000 you will be getting ripped off bad. Looking at their own back links to their own website, they primarily use blogs, directory sites, and forums to back link to their own site. In 12 months, you can do this for yourself. As far as the quality of the blogs..let me check.. pretty bad and badly spun articles. here’s some links: 1. www.squidoo.com/louis-vuitton-replica-handbags (doesn’t even work, against Squidoo’s TOS) 2. www.squidoo.com/increase-pagerank3. www.squidoo.com/promotional-ink-pens (one of their clients) 4. befitsports.blogspot.com/ (articles on here have complete duplicate content) from www.brandsoftheworld.com/critique/bikers-riders-and-motorcylists-gear5. televisionshowondvd.blogspot.com/6. forum.submitexpress.com/google/topic90629-15.htmlas you can see, you can make up your own decision. I do inhouse SEO for a company that has highly competitive keywords which we rank in the top 5 of all of them. For $5,000 Ill do a better job for you. lol. Oh, and I agree with István Róbert Keszeg. If you have $5k to blow, build a better site using half that money, and look into SEO yourself. My two cents. I spend about 4 hours daily researching sometimes. It’s amazing what you can do with a little research.

If you can provide your url, then it would be easy to evaluate their link building.
It really depends on how much risk your willing to take. If you choose a complete white hat firm they will only use white hat tactics, which mean slower risk, but it will also be a slower process. There is plenty of awesome people on SEOmoz who have SEO firms etc.. So if you looking for a low risk SEO firm find a well know person on seomoz that fits your requirements and contact them.
If you choose a firm that uses black hat techniques then you will have a high risk (of Google penalising your website) but faster returns. Normally SEO firms that offer packages are towards the Black hat side.
For example I would only recommend a handful of high quality directories, maybe 10-15, and a few more local directories.
If you own your own blog then I would concentrate on quality content as Jabcchetta said, if your already producing content why don’t you try and guessed blogging to build some extra links to your blog?
Also add yourself to technorati.com (if you haven’t already) it’s a great way to be found and build a strong reputation.
